Srinagar, Sept 20: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Handwara have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district and have today seized 5 vehicles (2 tippers, 03 Tractors) involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.
Police teams of Police Post Langat, Police Post Chogul and Police Station Kralgund headed by supervisory officers seized 5 vehicles (2 tippers, and 3 Tractors) bearing registration numbers JK09B-2078, JK09B-4016, JK09B-1143,JK09B-3804, Ch No- NKD2TAE-0562 involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals. Subsequently, proceedings under the provisions of the (MMDR Act) have been initiated, and further investigation is in progress.
