Visits Sumbal, inspects Naninara Bridge
BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 19: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib Friday visited Sumbal sub-division to review key infrastructure and traffic management concerns.
During the visit, DC inspected the functioning of the Naninara Bridge, which serves as an important link for the movement of vehicles in the area.
While interacting with officers and locals, DC took stock of the existing traffic scenario and discussed possible measures to ease congestion in the busy stretch near the bridge.
She directed the concerned departments to explore the feasibility of allowing two-way traffic movement on the bridge, with necessary safety measures in place, to reduce frequent traffic jams that causes inconvenience to commuters.
DC further emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between the traffic police and Roads & Buildings (R&B) department to streamline vehicular movement and ensure smooth passage for both private and public transport. She also instructed officials to submit a detailed report on the present status of the bridge and suggestions for its optimal utilization.
DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; SDM Sumbal, Tehsildar Sumbal and other concerned officers.
