ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 18: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag on Thursday organized a Special Lok Adalat for bank cases at the District Court Complex, Anantnag.
Special Lok Adalat was held under the directions of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Tahir Khurshid Raina (Chairman, DLSA Anantnag) and supervision of Fozia Paul, Secretary, DLSA Anantnag.
Addressing the gathering, Raina highlighted the concept of Lok Adalats and their role in providing speedy and amicable settlement of disputes. Multiple benches were constituted at the district headquarters to take up commercial as well as regular banking cases.
Out of 150 cases listed, 70 were settled, involving a settlement amount of Rs.1.11 crore. The initiative provided relief to litigants and reinforced the judiciary’s commitment to speedy justice and reduction of case pendency.
