SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 10: A day-long district level mega programme under the flagship initiative Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was today organised by Chief Education Office Shopian in collaboration with District Social Welfare office here at Government Degree College Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone underlined that the empowerment of women and education of girls is the cornerstone of an inclusive and progressive society.
ADDC urged parents, teachers and community representatives to play an active role in ensuring that every girl is educated, nurtured and empowered to contribute towards nation-building.
CEO Shopian, highlighted some of the key achievements of the Education Department Shopian in the field of education, empowerment, and welfare initiatives for female students.
Speakers also emphasized that programmes like BBBP are not just about awareness but about creating a social movement where the dignity, safety and rights of girls are safeguarded.
During the programme, girls’ achievers including NEET qualifiers, 12th and 10th Toppers of the district were felicitated for their outstanding contributions.
Besides, a distribution function of education kits was also conducted for hand holding of female students from disadvantageous communities.
