Srinagar, Aug 25: The security forces on Monday said to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Torna area of Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Officials said that the troops noticed suspicious movement near the forward posts and opened fire, forcing the infiltrators to retreat.
A massive search operation has been launched in the area to rule out any further movement.
This comes less than two weeks after an Army soldier was killed in an exchange of fire with infiltrators on August 13 in Uri village along the Line of Control (LoC). (KNO)
