KULGAM AUGUST 19: Kisan Sampark Abhiyan- Rural Credit Workshop under JKCIP-IFAD was today organised at Behibagh in Kulgam.
The programme was inaugurated by Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, M Afzal Parry.
Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the officials to work for the betterment of the farming community- which is the backbone of the National economy. He appreciated the initiatives aimed at empowering farmers and strengthening the rural economy.
Chairman DDC advised farmers to take best advantage of the Govt. schemes and build a prosperous nation and family. He also appreciated the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kulgam, agriculture and allied departments in enhancing the profitability of agriculture in the district.
In his address, Chief Scientist & Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kulgam, Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Ganai, highlighted the golden opportunity for the farmers and rural youth to take the best advantage of the new schemes.
District Agriculture officer and District Horticulture officer also sensitized farmers about various centrally sponsored schemes and shared information on new opportunities and benefits available for rural entrepreneurs especially under HADP and JKCIP.
They also advised the farmers to register themselves on JKCIP portal.
Other dignitaries present were DDC member Kulgam, scientists of the Kendra, besides the event witnessed huge participation of locals, including farmers, entrepreneurs, FPOs representatives from agriculture and allied departments.
