Srinagar, June 30: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Kulgam on Monday said to have seized four vehicles and arrested four persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
A Police party headed by Incharge Police Post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Akhran seized four vehicles (02 Tippers and 02 Tractors) and arrested four drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Vaishow, a police spokesman said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 134/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is going on.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood, so that timely action against the culprits will be taken,” police said.
