Srinagar, Jun 26: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the discussions on restoration of statehood must end to fulfil the demands of people.
Talking to reporters on the side-lines of a special national integration camp organised by the Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh NCC Directorate in Srinagar, Omar said, “It is good to see the discussions taking place on the restoration of statehood. But, we want the discussions on statehood to end so that the people will get what they have been demanding.”
Moreover, the Chief Minister also welcomed the approval of 19 key road and tunnel projects worth Rs 10.637 crore, saying that it will give a major boost to the infrastructure development in the region.
The demand for the construction of a tunnel along Mughal Road was raised ever since the road came into existence in 2008. Similarly the demand of Sadhna Top was also long-pending. These projects have now been approved and we expect some more projects like the Gurez tunnel to be approved as well,” he added. (KNO)
