Timely decision for students’ well-being

With the immense surge in temperatures, the government in a commendable step has come up to provide relief for the students of all the government and private schools by offering them early summer vacation of 15 days commencing from June-23.

The vacation will not only help the students to evade the relentless heatwave. With this decision the government has proved its concerns towards the safety of the students.

As many schools in Kashmir lack adequate infrastructure of cooling the classrooms, the early vacations for the students was much needed and the government for sure made it possible for the students who were exposed to increasing heat exposures that leads to the risk of heat stroke, fatigue and dehydration.

Earlier the government had changed the school timing to provide a relief to students in both the rural and urban areas.

The wise decision by the government has been appreciated by parents of the students.

As the students are all set to enjoy the two week summer break, it is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that they are keeping their wards indoors back at home and they must also ensure that the advisories pertaining to the heatwave issued by both the School Education and Health Department are followed in letter and spirit.

Besides, the students need to complete the given assignments during the vacation period.

Similarly the teachers also need to play an important role by guiding the students virtually and utilise the vacation period in sync with the academic Calendar issued by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir.

As the world is facing the climate change crisis the government must develop infrastructure that can tackle the challenges posed by the Climate change

With this the government will save the precious academic time of the students in line with the academic calendar
