Srinagar, June 15: Parents of J&K students in Iran on Sunday made a fervent appeal to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, urging urgent measures for the safe evacuation of students from conflict-hit Iran.
In light of the escalating regional conflict and recent overnight blasts that have left students traumatized and panicked, the parents appealed to Minister Jaishankar and all concerned authorities to arrange the safe evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran.
According to guidelines from the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian students currently studying in Iran have registered with the Indian Embassy there and have strictly followed all prior advisories and safety protocols issued by the authorities.
“We are deeply worried about the well-being of our children. The situation is deteriorating, and the psychological impact on the students is severe. It is still the right time to initiate a safe evacuation before the situation worsens,” said the parents in a joint statement.
They emphasized the need for swift humanitarian action, drawing parallels with timely evacuations conducted by the Indian government during the Ukraine conflict and other international crises. “We appreciate the Government of India’s past efforts and trust similar proactive measures will be taken now to ensure the safety of our children.”
The parents expressed hope that the government will treat this as an emergency and act promptly to protect the lives of Indian students abroad.
