Step towards inclusion

Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirmed the Government’s unwavering devotion to equality and equal opportunities for the PwDs during a mass distribution drive of aids and appliances at Jammu, is a heartening expression of empathy and governance.

His commitments that Divyangjan will be equally treated in all aspects of rights, access, and dignity is not just a simple statement of intent, but actually the very vision that leads to progressive and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir.

Aids distribution is only one of the many step toward enabling PwDs to lead a life of dignity and independence. A nudge toward opportunity and ability is a step in not leaving a single person behind due to lacking physical ability.

Access to aids, which are so important, improves physical movement, access, and communicates the overall message the administration wants to escalate: that every citizen, despite any particular physical limitation, is deserving of respect, dignity, support, and opportunities to improve their lives.

Lt Governor Sinha’s comments that persons with disabilities will be treated equally regarding rights, access, and dignity strongly resonate in a society where persons with disabilities have been treated differently.

Real progress is often asserted to be when your poorest and most vulnerable are lifted from poverty.

This project’s completion should only be seen as the beginning of our work in barrier-free infrastructure, social inclusion, and employment for PWDs.

The government’s admirable position should catalyse greater awareness from the public and private sectors alike to develop a fair and accessible society.

The issue of Divyang Welfare is leading the way in Jammu and Kashmir. LG Manoj Sinha must be commended for his leadership role, and everyone must support and advocate for such inclusive initiatives.

A caring society is a progressive society. Let’s celebrate this spirit and commit to making equality a reality for all citizens.
