An enormous event saw to revitalizing the spirit of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir: The JKHC organized a highly energetic and high-profile event under the unified banner of ‘Kashmir Chalo’ at Snowland Hotel, Sonamarg.
Not simply a meeting, it was transformed into a more than enough affirmation to the everlasting magnetism of Kashmir as a tourism destination—with the collective will from industry entrepreneurs, hospitality figureheads, and public office holders beyond.
Throughout the event, leading travel operators came from different regions in India, including Kargil, all collaborating with hoteliers and others within the hospitality community, launching one unified proud, unabashed statement: Kashmir is safe and welcoming, tourism-ready with open arms.
‘Kashmir Chalo’ demonstrated public and private sector perseverance of entrepreneurs and decision-makers alike to reestablish tourism in Kashmir. Now they are evolving collaboration between travel operators, hoteliers, and government agencies to develop new ways of maximizing visitors to the experiences of Kashmir.
There was a rich discussion on Kashmir’s unmatched natural splendour, cultural heritage, and hospitality that has always existed.
The event was held in Sonamarg—a ‘Meadow of Gold’—was perfect in showcasing every reason why Kashmir is the dream destination for every traveller.
One of the best moments of the session was the unanimous support, in which Kashmir was recognized, in all respects, as a safe and welcoming tourist destination. Stakeholders outlined the tremendous improvements in infrastructure, updates to security, and enhancements to the overall visitor experience, in a way that enables travellers to visit the Valley with both confidence and comfort.
Kashmir has something to meet every definition of the traveller’s wish-list, from luxury resorts to homestays, and from adventure tourism to spiritual retreats.
The “Kashmir Chalo” campaign is more than a simple tagline; it is a movement. This important campaign aims to bridge the divide between perception and reality and finds new potential avenues for a local economy that heavily depends on tourism. The inclusion of out-of-state travel operators is also a very positive sign that provides an all-India reach that will support the message.
With the travel industry coming back with confidence, kudos to the JKHC, hospitality operators, and the government effort required to create this unique initiative. This is an important moment; the beginning of a new era, in which Kashmir can finally bask in the glow that has earned it a privilege of being at the centre of everyone’s travel bucket-list.
