Take advantage of PMFME scheme: Anuj Verma

PMFME workshop organised at Kaldi Suglar

Udhampur, May 24: A one-day workshop on Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme was organised on Saturday at village Kaldi Suglar, block Jaganu in Udhampur district by Area Marketing Office, Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing Udhampur.
The Area Marketing Officer Udhampur is the District Nodal Officer for the PMFME scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Government of India for the district.
A number of SHG members, farmers and unemployed youth from Kaldi Suglar and adjoining villages, apart from a number of experts, participated in the workshop.
Anuj Verma Area Marketing Officer Udhampur, Dr Munish Sharma Senior Scientist SKUAST-J, Pankaj Sharma Manager PNB Udhampur, Shiny Sharma DRP PMFME, Ankur Sharma AEO Ghordi, Prakash Sharma farmer/ social activist, Rekha Sharma, Rukhsana, PMFME beneficiaries from Udhampur Rohit Salaria, Sunil Kumar & Bishan Dass, Kamal Kishor AGMO Udhampur and Ab Kabir Wani MI were present on the occasion.

The Government of India scheme being implemented by the J&K Agriculture Production Department in J&K envisage 35% subsidy, easy bank finance, help in Documentation/ preparation of DPR and complete hand holding including branding & marketing.
Verma emphasized the people to take advantage of the PMFME scheme and be part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat movement launched by the Prime Minister of India.
Dr Munish Sharma Senior Scientist KVK informed the gathering that the Central and the UT governments have announced a number of schemes for farmers, unemployed youth and SHG females with subsidy up to 90 percent.
He asked farmers and SHG members to take benefits of Government schemes in toto and embark on the path of Prime Minister Sankalp of viksit Bharat.
Farmers were asked to adopt the latest technologies as well as techniques like crop diversification, Market diversification, grading & packaging, storage & processing so as to get good returns of their produce.
Other speakers also briefed the audience about salient features of the PMFME scheme.
The PMFME beneficiaries narrated their success stories. They were also honoured and presented with mementos by the Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department. The welcome address and vote of thanks were presented by Kamal Kishore AGMO.
