Waqf Board Chairperson, VC SKUAST, others call on LG

SRINAGAR, MAY 23: Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday.
Dr Andrabi expressed her gratitude to Lieutenant Governor for the announcement of Government job to the closest kin of Pakistan shelling victims. She also discussed several measures undertaken by the Board for the development of Sufi shrines in J&K.
Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Kashmir called on Lieutenant Governor.
The Vice Chancellor briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the breakthrough Research viz development of the first Gene Edited sheep in the country.
SKUAST Kashmir is endeavouring in the two most important technologies which are revolutionising the world: Artificial Intelligence and the Gene editing technologies and has earned 77th Patent.
The Vice Chancellor also briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the new programs and initiatives of the University. He further informed that the academic programme which was switched to hybrid mode recently would be normalised from 1st June, 2025.
A delegation of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its President Javid Ahmed Tenga called Manoj Sinha and put forth important matters pertaining to trade and tourism sector of Kashmir region.
Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman, Save Youth Save Future Foundation, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He was accompanied by Anika Nazir, Women’s Wing Head, and Mudasir Ahmed Dar, South Kashmir Zonal President of the foundation.
Bhat apprised the Lieutenant Governor on various issues related to relief and rehabilitation of the families affected due to unprovoked shelling by Pakistan.
