Srinagar, May 17: Police in Shopian on Saturday said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A Police team from Police Post Reshnagri, at a checkpoint established at Pundhaan arrested a drug peddler identified as Aadil Ahmad Ahanger Son of Bashir Ahmad Ahanger resident of Muradpora Shopian, a police spokesman said.
During the search, 80 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 18/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Heerpora and investigation has been initiated.
