Sagar seeks special compensation for nomadic family

Srinagar, May 06: National Conference (NC) General Secretary and MLA Khanyar, Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar chaired a meeting with Block level office bearers of Khanyar-B (Harwan) block Tuesday.

The meeting focused on discussing developmental plans and addressing urgent matters. The meeting ended with a unanimous condemnation of the Nishat tragedy, where a woman was brutally assaulted, molested and murdered.

Sagar vowed to support the victims in their pursuit of justice and made a heartfelt plea to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, for special compensation to be provided to the grieving family on humanitarian grounds.

“I am deeply shocked and heartbroken by the tragic incident resulting in the death of a tribal woman in Nishat. The police have apprehended the accused, who were reportedly intoxicated at the time of the crime. My heartfelt condolences go out to the victim’s family. I fervently hope that the perpetrators are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” he stated.
