Peddler nabbed with heroin

Srinagar, April 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested a drug peddler in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and recovered heroin-like substance worth lakhs from his possession.
A police official said that acting on specific inputs, a team from Police Station Kulgam, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, raided a suspected location in Arreh village near Islamia Hanfia Institute. One individual was apprehended during the operation.
The official said that 471 grams of heroin-like substance were recovered from the accused. The arrested has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Raina, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Arreh, Kulgam. He has been taken into custody and shifted to the police station.
A case under FIR No. 34/2025 has been registered at Police Station Kulgam under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
