Inaugurates advanced dog kennel facility

Srinagar, Jan 10: In a significant step towards enhancing policing capabilities, DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR) Javid Iqbal Matoo inaugurated a state-of-the-art Dog Kennel facility at District Police Lines Anantnag on Friday.
The event was attended by SSP Anantnag Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, senior police officers, and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Matoo emphasized the importance of well-trained canine units in modern policing, particularly in crime detection, search-and-rescue missions, and explosives detection. He noted that the new facility provides an optimal environment for training and maintaining police dogs, thereby improving the operational efficiency of the force.
SSP Anantnag praised the dedicated efforts of the police team in establishing the kennel and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to adopting advanced tools and techniques to ensure public safety.
The inauguration also included a live demonstration showcasing the skills of the trained canine unit, which received widespread appreciation from the attendees. This initiative is expected to strengthen the district’s policing infrastructure and operational readiness.
