Security tightened across J&K for Republic Day

Srinagar: As Republic Day approaches, security measures have been significantly increased across Jammu and Kashmir.
The main celebration on January 26 will take place at Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu.
Officials have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and peacefully.
Security forces have increased their presence, particularly along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC). Senior officers have personally reviewed the security arrangements in sensitive border areas and stressed better coordination among agencies.
Additional checkpoints have been set up across Jammu and Kashmir, with intensified vehicle checks and frisking. Key areas are under strict surveillance.
Special attention is being paid to ensure vigilance through modern technology and close monitoring of suspicious activities. Rehearsals for cultural performances and parades are underway, with students, police, and paramilitary forces participating.
District officials have been instructed to decorate prominent government buildings with tricolor-themed lighting to celebrate national pride. Government employees have been directed to attend Republic Day functions in their districts, with mandatory participation.
Authorities are encouraging citizens to join the celebrations and reflect on the importance of Republic Day. (KINS)
