Srinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir has implemented a fully electronic challan system starting January 1, 2025, to enhance transparency and streamline its operations.
The ACB said that as a part of this initiative, all ACB branches will cease using manual methods for registering FIRs and submitting challans.
“Instead, they will utilize the Crime & Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) for electronic filing, aiming to improve record-keeping and expedite case management”.
“Investigating Officers (IOs) are now required to upload specific case-related forms directly into the CCTNS system for each challan. Supervisory officers have been instructed not to approve any challan unless all required information has been accurately entered into the system”.
“To support this transition, CCTNS labs have been established in all eight ACB police stations across Jammu and Kashmir, and 18 officials have received specialized training to ensure the system operates smoothly.
The ACB J&K emphasized that this move reflects its commitment to using technology to combat corruption more effectively while ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in its processes. This transition to an electronic system marks a major milestone in the bureau’s efforts to modernize its operations,” the ACB said.
