Srinagar, Dec 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police Tuesday arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Nagbal at a checkpoint established at Shuhama intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing the police party. He was chased and apprehended tactfully.
During the search, bangpattri along with seeds and tops like contraband substances was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Kambay son of Ghulam Ahmad Kambay resident of Shuhama.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 303/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
