It is with a mix of sadness and celebration that we bid you a farewell as you retire from your illustrious teaching career. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to education have inspired countless students, colleagues, and the entire teaching community. Your few decades of service have been a testament to your love for teaching and your ability to make a lasting impact on the lives of your students. Your legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations. We appreciate your tireless efforts, your patience, and your kindness. She has been an exceptional teacher, mentor, and a role model for both her students as well as the teaching community she worked with in educational institutions across the district. Her absence due to her retirement will be deeply felt, but we are also excited to see the new chapter that awaits you. You will get now an ample time to look after your health and be in your own family members round the clock. Today we bid a fond farewell to Fatima ji, a dedicated and passionate teacher, who retired after rendering decades of distinguished service in education department. Madam joined the department in 1990 and has since been an integral part of the teaching community. Throughout her tenure, she has taught and inspired countless students with her love for learning and exceptional teaching skills.
She has been an outstanding educator and an invaluable member of our teaching community,” said most of the officials of department who attended her retirement function at her residence of Panzin Kangan. Her dedication, expertise, and passion for teaching have made a lasting impact on our students and staff. We will miss her dearly, but we also celebrate her remarkable career and wish her a happy and fulfilling retirement. Born in picturesque Gurez valley of Bandipora district in November 1964, she earned her education locally, thereafter the family migrated to Panzin village of erstwhile district Srinagar. In 2007 when Ganderbal was carved as a separate district from Srinagar, Panzin village fell in newly created Ganderbal district. In 1990, she was absorbed as a General Line Teacher from then Srinagar district and during her service career, she served in far off locations also like Shutkari, Thune, Ganiwan, Wangat, Khanan and Barnabug. After receiving her appointment order she was directed to resume her duties at Shutkari in a school located in the outskirts of district Srinagar. Her dedication, passion and attitude towards both staff and students was unparalleled. When I was posted at BHS Khanan after joining initially in the department, I was wholeheartedly welcomed by her and i felt as if I am at home. She always treated me like her own son, and whenever I would leave for home on Saturdays, she always used to call me several times telephonically till I reached home safely. Few days ago, her colleagues of PS Khanan arranged a splendid function in her honor to make the last moments of her service career memorable and colourful. On the last day of her service on 30-11-2024, she had invited all the officials of the Zonal Education Office Kangan, teachers of the zone Kangan and other relatives who gave a grand farewell to her amidst tearful eyes. In one voice, Fatima ji was honoured for her selfless services she has rendered in the department and for her generosity she has displayed during her career. Even on the last day of her service, while serving lunch to invitees at her residence, she begged to the Zonal Education Officer Kangan Mr Sheikh Riyaz to make a substitute arrangement of a teacher at her last school. It reflects her concern towards educational needs and foundations of the future generations. Unequivocally I will say that such teachers are born not after decades but after centuries. I wish her a happy retirement and I pray to Almighty for her longevity, contentment and prosperity.
