71st AIC Week celebrated in Anantnag

Anantnag, November 16: The 71st All India Cooperative Week, themed “Role of Cooperatives in Building Viksit Bharat,” was celebrated at Town Hall, Anantnag.
The function was organized by the Department of Cooperatives in collaboration with Cooperative Banks and Societies. The event was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, as the Chief Guest.
The program highlighted the achievements of Cooperative Societies and key initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation, such as PACS computerization, establishment of grain storage facilities, and promotion of Janaushaddhi Kendras and Kisan Samruddhi Kendras.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC emphasized the need to expand cooperative ventures to underserved areas for broader socio-economic impact.
The event also saw active participation from senior officials, including Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Anantnag, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, who lauded the cooperative movement’s role in enhancing livelihoods and strengthening communities.
As part of the celebration, the District Consumer Store Super Bazar distributed dividend cheques to Cooperative Marketing Societies, while Cooperative Marketing Societies also distributed dividend cheques to affiliated PACS.
Additionally, registration certificates were issued to new cooperative, underscoring the growth of the movement. Certificates of appreciation were presented to individuals operating cooperative outlet centers for their dedicated service.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Registrar Breng, marking the successful culmination of the celebrations.
