Visits Balhama, holds public meeting to listen local demands
SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday undertook a visit to Balhama area in Panthachowk Tehsil of the district to inspect several development works and listen to demands of the local people.
The DC also visited Panthachowk area to inspect construction of Foot bridge being executed at a cost of Rs 43 lakh to connect Sumarbugh area with Panthachowk.
On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned executing agency to ensure completion of the Foot bridge by next week so that long pending demand of the local population is fulfilled.
During his visit to Balhama, the Deputy Commissioner who was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad, Tehsildar Panthachowk, Muzamil Zaman and other Officers, took stock of beautification & development works taken up at Bala Deviji temple Balhama.
On the occasion, the DC asked the concerned to accelerate the pace of works at the temple to expedite the process at the earliest.
The DC also visited Girls High School, Balhama and passed instructions for level raising of  playground, basketball court. He inspected various sections of the school including Smart classroom.
During the visit, the DC also chaired a meeting with local residents to listen their developmental demands and issues of the area.
The DC gave patient hearing to the public demands raised during the meeting and assured that all the genuine issues will be looked into on priority basis.
