During the meeting, the DC evaluated the scheme’s progress and discussed strategies to expand its reach.
Emphasizing the need for greater awareness, the DC directed concerned officers to organize regular awareness camps to ensure artisans across the district are well-informed about the scheme’s benefits.
The DC also highlighted the importance of quality training for artisans. Instructions were given to the relevant department to establish a mechanism to maintain high training standards and optimize the use of training centers. This approach aims to maximize the artisans’ skill development, which is critical for their professional growth and success under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
Furthermore, the DC directed the lead bank to submit detailed, bank-wise reports on the scheme’s financial aspects. This includes information on the number of applications received, approved, rejected, disbursements made, and pending cases. Additionally, the bank was asked to facilitate loans as per applicants’ convenience, ensuring the financial assistance process is smooth, accessible, and supportive of the artisans’ unique needs.
The meeting concluded with a call for streamlined coordination between various departments and banks to guarantee the scheme’s success. By enhancing training, simplifying financial assistance, and building awareness, the administration aims to uplift local artisans, promoting their long-term socio-economic growth.
