LG Sinha CM, Dr Farooq condemn
Kishtwar: Two Village Defense Guards (VDG) were reportedly killed by the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.
An official said that two VDGs identified as Nazir Ahmad, son of Muhammad Khalil and Kuldeep Kumar, son of Amar Chand–both residents of Ohli, Kuntwara have been killed by the terrorists in Kishtwar.
The official said that the duo would always go to Munzla Dhar (Adhwari) for grazing their cattle but today they didn’t return.
As per sources bodies haven’t been recovered yet, a massive search operation launched by forces.
The fresh attack comes at a time when J&K is witnessing spurt in attacks on non-J&K work force and encounters.
The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has strongly condemned the heinous terrorist attack on VDG members in Kishtwar. He paid homage to the martyr Nazir Ahmad and Kuldeep Kumar and reiterated the Government’s resolve to destroy all terror outfits and avenge the barbaric act.
In a post on X, he wrote: “No words are strong enough to condemn the heinous terrorist attack on VDG members in Kishtwar. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of brave sons martyred in this cowardly attack. We are firmly resolved to destroy all terror outfits & avenge this barbaric act”.
Meanwhile, National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the gruesome killing of two VDGs in Kishtwar.
The leaders said that such acts of barbaric violence remain a significant impediment in achieving the long-lasting peace in J&K. “In this hour of grief, their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased,” the NC wrote on X. (KNO)
