Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday unanmiously elected Sunil Sharma as leader of its legislature party, paving way for his appointment as leader of Opposition in the Assembly.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Sharma, who is former minister and MLA of Padder-Nagseni segment of Kishtwar, was today unanimously elected as the leader of BJP’s legislature party.
With this move, Sharma is set to be recognised as leader of opposition in the Assembly where BJP is the largest opposition party.
This is the first time in J&K’s history when leader of opposition would be from BJP—(KNO)
