Srinagar, November 02: The University of Kashmir (KU) is in deep shock and sorrow to share the tragic news of the passing of Dr Shalinder Singh, son of esteemed faculty member Prof Sujan Kaur.
Dr Singh served as an Assistant Professor at Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag and passed away unexpectedly.
Prof Sujan Kaur, who has been a dedicated Urdu Coordinator at the varsity’s Directorate of Distance Education (now Centre for Distance and Online Education), shared her son’s final moments with profound sorrow.
Expressing heartfelt condolences, KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan said, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Prof Sujan Kaur and her family during this immensely difficult time. May Almighty bless his soul with eternal peace and grant strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.”
KU Registrar, Prof Naseer Iqbal, also conveyed his sympathy, stating, “The entire university stands united in grief with Prof Sujan Kaur. Her years of service to the university have touched countless lives and we share her sorrow in this moment of profound loss.”
In a collective message, the university community extended their deepest condolences, praying for Dr Shalinder Singh’s soul to rest and for his family to find the strength and solace needed to cope with his sudden demise.
