CSIR-IIIM Jammu celebrates Diwali Milan

Jammu: CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu, celebrated Diwali Milan an event dedicated to expressing gratitude towards its staff members.
Led by Director Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, CSIR-IIIM honoured the hard work and dedication of its team members by presenting them with specially curated Lavender gifts. The celebration aimed to acknowledge the essential contributions of the contractual staff, who form the backbone of the institution’s daily operations.
Director Dr. Zabeer Ahmed presented each gift, reaffirming CSIR-IIIM’s commitment to acknowledging the dedication of all staff, especially those who consistently support the institute’s mission.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed noted that the Diwali celebration aimed to recognize the valuable contributions of contractual staff through a thoughtful gesture of appreciation. Lavender, chosen for its symbolic association with calmness and positivity, was selected to bring an atmosphere of peace and joy to the festivities.
Locally cultivated as part of CSIR-IIIM’s Aroma Mission, lavender plays a significant role in the institute’s research on medicinal and aromatic plants. These gifts reflect CSIR-IIIM’s commitment to sustainable livelihoods through lavender farming, benefiting farmers, self-help groups (SHGs), and communities in the region. By presenting lavender-based gifts, CSIR-IIIM celebrated Diwali while also highlighting its ongoing efforts to promote aromatic plant cultivation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The event concluded with staff joining in the festive cheer and reinforcing the importance of gratitude and unity. This Diwali Milan at CSIR-IIIM highlighted the institution’s core values of appreciation and togetherness.
