People advised not to send used items to fire victims
Jammu: The heaps of old and used clothes are lying on the roadside at Mul village of Warwan where 95 families were affected due to the devastating blaze on October 14.
The non-government organisations of different areas of Jammu and Kashmir, as per a local news gathering agency have requested people not to humiliate the fire victims by sending used clothes and other old items which are of no use to the affected families.
They have rather requested to donate money which can be used to buy building material for construction of houses. The immediate need for the people is to construct houses where they can spend forthcoming harsh winters.
“The affected families have got enough material like clothes, blankets, mattresses, quilts and other such items but they want to start construction of houses as soon as possible. We would require a huge amount to help the affected families and whosoever wants to donate can send money to different NGOs working on the ground,” said a volunteer of a NGO, who is in the village to help the people.
In this regard, an NGO of Doda Furqan Welfare Trust (FWT) announced that they are taking 15 dumpers full of bricks and 50 water tanks of 1000 litres each to help the fire victims. They have requested people to donate as much as they can so that affected families can be benefited.
Meanwhile, many people from different areas of the union territory have been continuously reaching Mul Warwan with an aim to rebuild the village. (KNO)
