Srinagar, Oct 19: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed Dheeraj Gupta, IAS (AGMUT:1993), as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
This change comes as part of the Government Order No. 1799-JK (GAD) of 2024, issued by the General Administration Department.
Gupta, who was previously serving as the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) for the Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment, has also been handling the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department. With his new appointment, he will assume his role as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister with immediate effect.
The order also reads that Shailendra Kumar, IAS (AGMUT:1995), Principal Secretary to the Government, Agriculture Production Department, has been given the additional responsibility of overseeing the Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment until further orders. Similarly, Santosh D. Vaidya, IAS (AGMUT:1998), Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department, will now hold the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department.
