Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said that the transformation of Bakshi Stadium Srinagar and MA Stadium Jammu into international standards was possible due to the sanctioning of Rs 46 crore by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the PMDP.
LG Sinha while underscoring the works done at the stadiums in J&K said that any international-level cricket match could be held in the grounds, which have seen significant revamp.
LG Sinha said that the massive crowd, which turned up at the Bakshi Stadium to see the final match of LLC, is a testament to “Badalta Jammu and Kashmir”.
“The display of cricket fever here is the result of the peace which prevailed from the last four to five years,” LG said.
He credited the revamping of MA Stadium and Bakshi Stadium to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, LG Sinha said, gave Rs 46 crore under PMDP for the grounds, which are now fit to hold any international-level cricket match. (CNS)
