Cyber cell recovers Rs 1.58 lakh

Srinagar: The Cyber Cell of District Police Kupwara has successfully recovered Rs. 1,58,184 for victims of various online financial frauds. Through swift action and effective cyber techniques, the Cyber Cell resolved multiple cases, preventing further financial losses for the victims.
A victim was defrauded of Rs. 23,000 in a task-based job scam. The Cyber Cell quickly gathered evidence and recovered the full amount.
In a credit card update fraud, a victim lost Rs. 20,590. The Cyber Cell intervened and managed to recover Rs. 20,000 of the amount.
A victim was deceived into investing Rs. 44,270 with promises of doubled returns. The Cyber Cell blocked the transactions and recovered the full amount.
A victim lost Rs. 69,500 due to a fake SIM card update request. The Cyber Cell recovered Rs. 14,500.
In another case, a victim lost Rs. 72,001. The Cyber Cell successfully recovered Rs. 52,001.
A victim lost Rs. 5,000 to a fake credit message scam. The Cyber Cell recovered Rs. 4,413.
