‘Ministerial berth CM’s prerogative’
Srinagar: The National Conference (NC), in response to the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) appeal for a ministerial role for its lone MLA from Doda in Jammu and Kashmir new government, stated that the decision is the prerogative of the Chief Minister.
The party stated that the priority is the formation of government before cabinet roles are considered.
Senior National Conference leader Tanveer Sadiq, recently elected as the Legislative Assembly member from Zadibal constituency and known to be close to National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah, stated that decisions on ministerial berths or portfolios fall under the chief minister’s prerogative.
In a brief chat with news agency KINS, Sadiq emphasized, “The ministerial berth is the prerogative of the Chief Minister. Let the government formation take place first.”
