Srinagar: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Adalat focused MACT and Matrimonial Cases scheduled for October 19, 2024, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar organized a Special Lok Adalat today at the District Court Complex in Srinagar.
Under the guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and Principal District and Sessions Judge of Srinagar, and with supervision from Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge and Secretary of DLSA Srinagar, the event aimed to facilitate the resolution of disputes related to MACT and Matrimonial cases.
Four benches were constituted for the Special Lok Adalat. The First Bench was presided over by Ms. Jeema Bashir (Presiding Officer, MACT Court, Srinagar) and Arti Mohan (Presiding Officer, POCSO Court, Srinagar).
The Second Bench was led by Gowher Majeed Dalal (4th Additional District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar) and Varun Kumar (3rd Additional Munsiff/JMIC, Srinagar).
The Third Bench was headed by Renu Dogra (Principal Judge, Family Court Srinagar) and Mr. Vikas Bhardwaj (2nd Additional Munsiff, Srinagar).
The Fourth Bench was chaired by Aadil Mushtaq (Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar) and Shayesta Nazir (City Munsiff, Srinagar).
The benches settled a significant number of cases on the spot, marking a crucial step in promoting dispute resolution.
The event provided a platform for the public and legal professionals to understand the benefits of seeking amicable solutions through the Lok Adalat process.
