Srinagar: In a press conference held in Srinagar after the Congress Legislative Party meeting, Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra announced that the Congress party will extend a letter of support to the National Conference. However, discussions on governance models will only commence after this support is formalized.
Karra revealed that a resolution was passed, delegating the decision on who will lead the Congress Legislative Party in Jammu and Kashmir to the central leadership.
Emphasizing the significance of unity, Karra stressed that the spirit of the Indian Alliance surpasses numerical considerations. The Indian Alliance comprises 24 parties united against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s divisive politics.
“We are all united to fight the menace of BJP,” Karra asserted, highlighting the coalition’s determination.
In response to a question, Karra affirmed that Omar Abdullah is acceptable to Congress, emphasizing that this decision is non-negotiable. [KNT]
