Srinagar: A day after securing a landslide victory in J&K Assembly Elections, JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that they have to deal with uphill tasks, “with a major one among them to overcome unemployment and inflation in J&K.”
The JKNC President, while enumerating a few challenges which lie ahead for them, said that they have to find jobs for the unemployed youth besides controlling inflation.
“The differences that have been created by them in Jammu and Kashmir need to be reduced. We have to try to make the Hindus living there (Jammu) believe that we will think the same for them as we do for Kashmir. It does not matter that they have not voted for us, but we will work to resolve their problems as it is obligatory upon us. We will not be partial,” Dr Farooq Abdullah said.
Replying to a query from a reporter about his decision to appoint Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister of the new government, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that what he has decided will happen.
It is pertinent to mention that the INDIA bloc secured a grand victory in J&K with 49 seats. The majority of seats among the total were of NC at 42. (CNS)
