Srinagar: To commemorate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, the NCC cadets of the Srinagar Group enthusiastically participated in a series of events at Army Public School Srinagar, wherein the cadets enthusiastically displayed spirit of patriotism and community service by organizing various activities, including painting competition, singing nationalistic songs, organizing cleanliness awareness drives, cultural programs, and discussions on Gandhi values of peace, non-violence, and self-reliance. Their efforts were in line with Gandhiji’sprinciples of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (Clean India) and “Sarvodaya” (welfare for all), a Defence spokesman said in a statement.
“The event served as an opportunity for the cadets to reflect on the importance of Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings in today’s world and to contribute to the betterment of society through collective action. The celebration concluded with a pledge by the cadets to uphold the values of unity, equality, and service, which are central to Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy,” the statement added.
