Srinagar: In the interiors of Dal Lake, voters of different areas row boats to cast their ballots to choose their representative for development and reforms.
Surrounded by organic vegetable gardens at Moti Mohalla in Zadibal Constituency, voters were seen rowing their boats to reach the polling booth.
Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), one of the voters at 57-Kooli Mohalla Mir Behri Bud Dal polling station, Ghulam Mustafa said that he is voting for the first time only for development.
The 47-year-old Mustafa said, “I have never casted a vote but this time I have encouraged my family members too to cast their ballots.”
He said, “In past one decade, there has not been any development in our area. Besides, many things changed which earlier used to be in our favour. Be It electricity, infrastructure or health services.”
Another voter, Fida Hussain of Kani Kachi area of Rainawari said that he was going to cast a ballot for peace, development and assistance for Dal dwellers.
“I believe that casting a voter will help us choose our own representative who can help us in growing and will uplift the area,” Hussain said.
Pertinently, at 11 Am, 57-Kooli Mohalla Mir Behri Bud Dal recorded 192 votes out of total 775 votes.
Meanwhile, large queues were missing. However voters in singles and doubles were turning up at the polling booth in Zadibal Constituency.
At 11:30 Am, a total of 79 votes were polled out of a total of 271 at 60-B Kat Mohalla, Mir Behri Boad Dal.
Similarly, at 59-Moti Mohalla, a total of 119 votes were polled out of 702 votes.
Likewise, at 59-B Moti Mohalla in Zadibal Constituency, at 11:30 Am, a total of 207 votes were polled out of a total of 942 votes—(KNO)
