Srinagar, Sept 12: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, Thursday in collaboration with Kashmir Concern (NGO), organized a rally from Primary Health Centre, Habbak Srinagar, to raise awareness about environmental protection. The event, held under the guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman of DLSA Srinagar, and supervised by Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary and Civil Judge, DLSA Srinagar, aimed to emphasize the pressing environmental issues such as pollution and deforestation.
The rally, flagged off by Hakak as the chief guest, saw active participation from students of Crescent Public School and Bilaliya Public School. Students marched with a shared goal of fostering environmental consciousness and promoting a sustainable future.
The event was supported by prominent figures, including Shabbar Khan, Principal of Crescent Public School, Nisar Ahmed, Principal of Bilaliya Public School, and Touseef Ahmed, Chairman of Kashmir Concern. Also present were officials from DLSA Srinagar, school staff, volunteers from Kashmir Concern, and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar.
“We are committed to nurturing environmentally conscious citizens,” said Hakak, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar. “This rally is a testament to our dedication to empowering the future generation to safeguard our environment.”
The rally concluded with a cleanliness drive at Duck Park, Srinagar, where students actively participated, demonstrating their commitment to environmental preservation. The initiative highlighted the vital role of education and community action in promoting environmental stewardship among young citizens.
