Srinagar: To eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam on Monday said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
“A police party of PP Soibugh at a checkpoint established near PP Soibugh intercepted a vehicle (Piaggio Auto) bearing registration number JK01AL-4083 driven by Hilal Ahmad Dagga son of Mohd Ramzan Dagga resident of Mahjoor Nagar Rose Line Colony Rambagh Sgr A/P Kenihama Nowgam Srinagar. During search, 14 Kgs of Poppy Straw were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 309/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Budgam and further investigation has been initiated—(KNO)
