KU’s North Campus, GDC B’la sign MoU for enhanced academic collaboration

Srinagar: In a significant step towards enhancing educational and research collaboration in the region, the North Campus, University of Kashmir (KU) and Government Degree College (GDC), Baramulla, Tuesday signed a  Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Tuesday.

The MoU was signed by KU Registrar, Prof Naseer Iqbal, and Principal, GDC Baramulla, Prof Neelofar Bhat.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Naseer Iqbal, emphasised that the MoU aims to encourage cooperation between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest.

“This collaboration holds potential benefits for both institutions, particularly in the domains of academics and research,” he added.

Prof Neelofar Bhat, Principal of GDC Baramulla, said that the MoU will significantly enhance the academic and research activities in the region.

“This collaboration will be highly beneficial providing students broader educational opportunities,” she added.

Director, North Campus, Dr Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad, underlined the importance of student exchange and better resource utilisation under the MoU.

“I am optimistic about the opportunities this partnership would bring for students and faculty alike,” he said.

Training and Placement Officer, North Campus, Dr Umar Farooq, underlined the need for such MoUs in light of the vision and goals set by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

“These partnerships are crucial for achieving the policy’s objectives,” he maintained.

Dr Maleeha Gul, Member of the Training and Placement Cell, outlined that the MoU aims to encourage better cooperation between the institutions.

“This cooperation will include the exchange of students, placement drives, NSS/NCC/Sports initiatives, knowledge exchange programmes, faculty collaboration, collaborative research projects and other academic fields of mutual interest,” Dr Gul said.

Dean Academics, GDC Baramulla, Dr Abdul Rouf and Dean, Research, GDC Baramulla, Dr Humaira Qadri, Faculty members from North Campus were also present on the occasion.

Dr Maleeha Gul and Dr Humaira Qadri on behalf of their respective institutions coordinated the planning and execution of the MoU.
