Srinagar: The body of a Bandipora youth, who jumped into the River Jhelum at Chattabal on June 01, has been recovered, officials said.
An official said that the body of the youth, identified as Mohammad Iqbal Dar, son of Satar, a resident of Sadnara Hajin Bandipora, was found at Sangam. He had jumped into the River Jhelum at Bharave Ghat Chattabal, Srinagar.
The police have begun an investigation, and more details are awaited.
Meanwhile, a body of a West Bengal resident was found in Dal Lake in Srinagar today early morning, officials said.
An official told said that the body was found in Dal Lake near Ghat No 1 early morning today. He said that the body was later identified as that of Raja Singha Roy of West Bengal. Police have taken cognisance of the matter and initiated further investigation—(KNO)
