Budding ‘kalakaars’ cast spells on audiences in ‘Kashir Kalakaar Season-7’

Carry forward legacy of legendary Vijay Malla Sursamrat

Jammu: Budding Kashmiri singers cast spells on the audiences in Kashur Kalakaar Season-7, a musical tribute to legendary singer Sursamrat Vijay Malla, organised by Athrot Cultural Foundation at Writers Club Abhinav Theatre, here today.

The music and melody was at its best and the performances of young singers mesmerized one and all while carrying forward the legacy of late Sh Vijay Malla Sursamrat.

Specially abled children from JIGER foundation under the direction of Veeshaka Bhan presented a welcome song.

It was observed that some of the songs of Vijay Malla sung by young singers brought tears to the audience at jam packed Writers club, who otherwise, were busy in cheering, pating and promoting the participants.

The dignitaries who spoke on the occasion including the Chief Guest, Vijay Sharma DC Relief , Educationist Prof BL Zutshi, Social Activist Sandhya Dhar and another Social Activist MK Yogi lavished praise on Athrot Cultural Foundation for holding the event in the memory of the iconic singer in a most befitting manner.

Former MLC Girdhari Lal Raina (Ajey Bharti) who presided over the function applauded the role of organisers and appreciated Kalakaars for mesmerizing tributes.

All speakers While appreciating the contribution of former great singer Vijay Malla in the singing field, they termed him ‘Samrat’ of singing world.

All the dignitaries appreciated young singers for their fabulous performances.

They said that these young singers possess all that is required to blossom at the highest level and conquer the singing world.

The singers who have qualified for the finals include Naisha Bhat, Vanshika Kaw, Suhas Koul, Lavanya Koul, Nirmit Raina, Daksh Bhat, and Parthi Dhar.

Parthi Dhar a specially abled child presented a guest performance.

Famous singer Shanti Lal Sidh announced the singers who qualified for the grand finale.

Earlier, Kanwal Peshin,Ā Ā  Writer, Singer and Social Activist presented a welcome address and paid rich tributes to the late Vijay Malla.

He also said that floral tributes are paid to Sursamrat throughout the globe on social media

The proceedings of the programme were beautifully conducted by famous anchor, Ms Kusum Tickoo.

The event was held under the overall supervision of Directors of Athrot Foundation, Abhimanyu Peshin and Ms RK Pandita. Dr Ramesh Razdan and Ayush Bhat were organising secretaries of the event.
