Srinagar, Mar 19: Police in Kulgam Tuesday attached property worth over 10 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
Authorities said that a single-story residential house worth approximately Rs 1,014,894, measuring 976.76 Sq. ft was attached.
The property, police said, belongs to the notorious drug peddler Ghulam Mohammad Mir, also known as Gull Kasai, son of Mohd Abdullah Mir, a resident of Bugam.
The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR No. 166/2015 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act & 77/2022 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act of PS Kulgam, police said.
As per police, the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police.
“The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the said drug peddler.”
