Srinagar, Mar 15: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Friday convened a meeting at the Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, chaired by Director General Yogesh Baweja.
The focus of the meeting was to address communication needs across various Central Government Departments in Srinagar.
Director General Baweja underscored the importance of the Information Management and Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) as a vital platform for discussing and resolving communication challenges promptly.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to informing the public about its achievements, aiming to enhance lives and foster progress.
Moreover, Baweja highlighted the pivotal role of PIB’s Fact Check in combating misinformation, especially in light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He urged departments to utilize PIB’s resources for verifying news credibility.
During the meeting, Joint Director Qazi Salman provided insights into the operational aspects of PIB Srinagar and RNU DDK Srinagar. Attendees included IMPCC members representing various Central Government Departments and Media Units of the I&B Ministry in Srinagar.
Discussion points ranged from departmental activities to collaborative strategies aimed at improving media coverage and feedback mechanisms. Representatives from diverse departments, including CBC J&K, Ladakh Region & PIB Jammu, IMD Srinagar, IGNOU, JK-DIPR, AIR Srinagar, NIT Srinagar, BSF, NE AIR Srinagar, RNU DD Srinagar, and others, shared their insights and proposed action plans.
The meeting concluded with a comprehensive review of departmental activities and a commitment to enhancing media coverage and public engagement through collaborative efforts.
