Srinagar, Mar 07: A two-day international conference titled “Navigating the Crisis of Climate Change: Exploring the Role of Cooperative Federalism” convened at Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Kashmir on March 6-7.
This event, organized by the esteemed Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), a German foundation, in collaboration with the local partner, Centre and School for Sustainable Development and Environment, showcased an amalgamation of erudition.
Among the luminaries guiding the discourse were distinguished knowledge partners, including the revered Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and CRRID Chandigarh.
The Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, graced the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest, imparting profound insights that set an optimistic tone for the proceedings.
Additionally, the Guest of Honor, renowned Sociologist and Social Scientist Prof. Vijaylakshmi Brara, enriched the discourse with invaluable experiences gleaned from her myriad projects.
Distinguished intellectuals, such as Prof. Rekha Saxena and Prof. Ashwani Kumar, lent their expertise to the conference, which served as a platform to elucidate various facets of climate change mitigation.
The symposium generated crucial recommendations aimed at fortifying extant policy frameworks in climate action plans.
Through seven rigorous deliberation sessions, a plethora of climate change-related research papers and seminal addresses were presented by leading experts, fostering an environment conducive to meaningful discourse and tangible solutions.
