Drug smugglers booked under NDPS Act

Srinagar, Feb 06: Police Tuesday booked two of the most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under the PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla.

According to authorities, both smugglers were apprehended and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.

The smugglers have been identified as ShahidManzoor Dar, son of Manzoor Ahmad Dar, resident of Mohalla Mir Sahib Baramulla, and Shabir Ahmad Wani, also known as Hubba, son of Jalal-ud-Din, resident of Singhpora.

Police said that many cases have been registered against these drug smugglers, who were involved in promoting the drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth in Baramulla, Pattan, and other areas of the district.

Despite their involvement in multiple FIRs, police said, they persisted in their activities, continuing to promote drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
