Srinagar, February 01: Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Police in Handwara attached property of a notorious drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
The attached property is a mini shopping complex comprising of 4 shops belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Sultan Dar resident of LachiporaHandwara .
“The said notorious drug peddler is involved in several NDPS cases including Case FIR No.316/2017 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara, Case FIR No. 86/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara, Case FIR NO.242/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara and Case FIR No .36/23 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara,” police said.
The property, police said, was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted.
“The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler. The notorious drug peddler is currently under detention at Kote-Bhalwal Jammu under PIT-NDPS Act.”
