Srinagar: A huge quantity of drugs and psychotropic substances seized in 65 cases was destroyed scientifically at the Kashmir Health Care System, IGC Lassipora by a committee of officers on Wednesday.
Officials said that the committee of officers including police destroyed the contraband substances which were recovered in 65 FIRs cases across Anantnag district’s Police Stations, ANTF Kashmir, Qazigund and QaimohKulgam.
The move was undertaken in pursuit of a court order and in accordance with section 52A of the NDPS Act, which deals with the disposal of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances., the official said.
After the disposal of the seized drugs and psychotropic substances, the community members expressed gratitude to the officers for their dedication to creating a drug-free society.CNS
